Tillack, the older brother of two-time winner Jye, shot scores of 75 and 74 to sit in first place with a score of 149, ahead of Greg Welsh, 151, his son Nick Welsh, 153, and 14-year-old prodigy Tom Hanson, 155.

About 80 golfers hit the Elliminyt-based course on Saturday, with players returning for the second round yesterday.

Golfers will return for rounds three and four over the next two Saturdays.

Peter Kerr is in the lead for the club’s B Grade title, while Paul Cabrie leads the way in C Grade.
