Colac Golf Club men’s championship is set to go down to the wire with three players leading the way for their first title with one round remaining.

Nick Welsh shot a score of 73 in the third and penultimate round to shoot into the equal lead with Rhys Tillack on 226, after Tillack scored 77 in the third round.

Youngster Tom Hanson also scored a 73 to sit in third spot on 228.

“It’s going down to the wire, which is great because the top three leaders all haven’t won before,” Colac Golf Club vice-president Ed Morrissy said.

“Tom was the story of the day, he scored 73 and had two eagles, which was a fantastic effort,” he said.

“He also received the Welshman Cup for the best overall net score which was decided on Saturday, Peter Kerr won B Grade and John Miller won C Grade.”

Multiple club champion Greg Welsh, 230, sits in fourth place after his score of 78 on Saturday, ahead of Jye Tillack, 73, 231, Paul Hanson, 76, 232, and Andrew Parker, 77, 235.
