Big boost for Colac as star sisters return

Sisters Brooke Allan, left, and Kara Allan have returned to the Colac Tigers following a season with the Geelong West Giants.

Allan sisters Brooke and Kara will return home to Colac next season in a major coup for the Tigers’ senior netball squad.

The promising youngsters spent the 2017 campaign with rival Geelong league outfit Geelong West, but this week signed on the dotted line to play at their junior club again next year.

Tigers co-coach Sara Hay said Brooke, one of the state’s most promising defenders, and Kara, a talented goaler, were welcome additions back at Tigerland after the top-grade netball side just missed finals this season.

“We are so excited to have them back,” she said.

“Having both of them is amazing, because they can add so much to our team at both ends of the court.”

Brooke has climbed up the Victorian netball ranks in recent years having represented the Big V on four occasions in the 17-and-under and 19-and-under ranks, which led to Australian junior selection on two occasions, including this year.
