Council will continue to fight for school site

Most of the former Colac High School’s site has remained closed to the public since the school’s closure. The site could become housing.

COLAC’S civic leaders have continued to defend the community’s right to regain a portion of the former Colac High School site, and they hope a land rezoning will seal the deal.

  1. I honestly don’t see the need for more public open space in that area of town….the are areas already down there hardly get used! I’m sure it would only sit for a few years then get rezoned again for housing and sold off at a profit to the council.
    Just be sure to save the original High School building, its part of the towns history.

  2. Interesting way this story is presented by council. How about the real issue of council capitulates on 2/3 of high school site, including ALL the buildings that could have been used for community groups.
