Premier won’t commit to more trains

VICTORIAN Premier Denis Napthine says the completion of a passing loop at Warncoort, east of Colac, would allow for more train services between Geelong and Warrnambool.

  1. I’m not sure what source Cr Brian Crook is using, but no other intercity line has more than the 3 daily trains that Warrnambool gets. It is true that Ararat has 7 services per weekday, but 4 out of the 7 are bus services.

    The service should be improved but at least it’s still far better than what runs to Maryborough or Echuca, the former being heavily hyped politically for it’s re-opening yet it only has 1 train service per day.
