Colac mum of two Elisha Currer says competing in a fitness modelling competition has been worth the hard work and dedication.
Elisha challenged herself in March to enter her first fitness and muscle modelling competition and meal prepped and trained towards her goal with the help of trainer Ebony Reynolds.
She competed at last weekend’s I Compete Natural Muscle and Model World Alliance Victorian State Titles in three categories; sports model first timers, sports model mumma and swimwear.
Elisha said being on stage competing was a rewarding experience, despite missing out on a placing.
“Being up on stage was amazing, showing off all your hard work and dedication was just amazing,” she said.
“It was such a good feeling to be up there.”
The mother of Hemi, 5, and Cleo, 2, said her transformation had been a five-year process since her first pregnancy.
She said she had lost 45 kilos since embracing a healthier lifestyle and that after she reached each fitness goal, she set new goals for herself including fitness modelling.
“I didn’t think I was going to do it a year ago, I never would have thought in a million years I’d do it but it’s only been in this last six to eight months I thought I’d to work towards that,” she said.
Elisha said working out regularly increased her physical fitness and eating well resulted in more energy, an increased mental strength and had a positive flow-on effect in all areas of her life.
“I’ve got a lot more energy, I feel a lot more comfortable in myself, I love putting clothes on and they fit,” she said.
