Newest Falcons in state carnival

Colac district’s newest Geelong Falcons have gotten off to a winning start at this week’s V-Line Cup.

Ten youngsters from across the district are representing the Falcons’ two under-15 boys’ teams, and one under-16 girls’ team.

Toby Middleton and Oscar Barrow helped Geelong Falcons One defeat Peninsula Stingrays on Monday, 19.18 (132) to 1.4 (10).

Brady Coutts and Trey Wheadon both kicked goals for the Falcons’ second team, in its 6.4 (40) to 4.7 (31) win against Yarra Ranges, while Indy Parish was among the best players.

Hugh McCrae, Tye Mason, Sam Mulgrew and Noah Allen also featured in the clash.

Meanwhile, Gabbi Featherston helped the Falcons’ girls’ team defeat Peninsula Stingrays on Monday, 3.3 (21) to 3.1 (19).

All three teams play their second games at Traralgon today, with the Falcons’ girls’ team taking on Yarra Ranges at 11am, followed by Falcons Two against Gippsland Power Two at 1pm, and Geelong Falcons One versus Gippsland Power One at 3pm.
