Colac man wins $686,749 in lottery

Colac Lotto has sold two division one winning entries in the past month. A Colac retiree became the latest winner when he won $686,749.11 in Saturday’s TattsLotto draw. Pictured are Colac Lotto owners Ros and Glen Monaghan celebrating the win.

A Colac retiree is Colac Lotto’s latest Tattslotto winner, less than a month after Colac’s most recent division one win.

The winner claimed his $686,749.11 prize yesterday afternoon, and the man said he was “over the moon” when he realised he’d won.

The man told a Tatts official he discovered his win while watching the TattsLotto draw on Saturday night.

“We usually watch the draw, there’s nothing much else to do,” he said.

“I thought someone was having a lend of me.

“I read the numbers and went over to my wife and gave her a copy of the numbers and said ‘I’ll read out what we’ve got’,” the man said.

“She didn’t believe me either.”

He said the win would “make life a lot easier” and he planned to share the winnings with his family.

“We’ll share some of the money with our children, but also buy ourselves a new car to help us get around,” he said.
