An aspiring young female footballer got the opportunity to meet her Geelong AFL heroes thanks to the generosity of her cousin.

Their cousin, former Geelong VFL footballer and Colac Tigers coach Kane Leersen, won the photo opportunity in a raffle, and gifted it to Charlotte.
“Kane won it in a raffle and passed it on to Charlotte because he knows how much she loves football and the Cats,” Charlotte’s mother Megan Leersen said.
“The raffle was at a Geelong game, and Charlotte was actually playing Auskick at the game that day,” she said.
“Kane spotted her on the ground but didn’t realise it was her at the time, but he said he was watching with interest because she was the only girl and she was so good.
“He won the raffle and passed it on that night.”
Mrs Leersen said it had been a long wait since August when Charlotte received the prize.
