Dolphins footballers Harley Davies and Emilio Graziani played in the bowls club’s Division Three premiership side last season, returning the team to Division Two this
season.

Now the club has its sights set on a Division Two title, earning it promotion to the top grade.

New bowls club coach Leigh McIlvenny, 28, one of the region’s top bowlers and a fellow Lorne footballer, is leading the charge after returning from a three-year stint with Apollo Bay’s Division One side.

The trio has also helped lure fellow footballers and good mates Che Turner, Campbell Downey and Jared Matheson to the club.

McIlvenny said Lorne would field its strongest team of the season in tomorrow’s top-of-the-table Division Two clash against ladder-leader City Two.

Lorne is currently second on the ladder with a 5-1 record despite not having McIlvenny for the opening four weeks due to a trip to America.
