Birregurra’s cricketers have continued their strong form recording their second win of the season after a tight battle with Colac.
The Saints are sitting in top spot on the ladder after reaching the Stallions’ total of 131 runs in the final over with one wicket in hand.
Recruit Jack Parker posted a game-high 56 runs continuing his dominate form with the bat from round one where he recorded 86 runs.
Birregurra skipper James Rowan said Parker, along with Rueben Dare, 22 runs, were crucial to the win.
“We were happy with the win, the way we batted was a bit disappointing, if it wasn’t for Jack Parker and Rueben Dare we wouldn’t have got close,” Rowan said.
“Parker really digs deep and he’s been good for us so far,” he said.
The Stallions restricted the Saints to 4-40 before Parker stepped in at number three, with Cam McCrae taking three wickets and co-captain Aidan Spence taking two wickets in his first game back after an overseas trip.
Cullan Spence and Hugh McCrae also claimed two wickets.
Stallions’ Luke Consedine recorded a team-high 27 runs, while Michael Tomkins recorded 20 batting at number five and Ethan Schroder posted 22 at seven.
