Colac Otway Shire councillors who approved a 12-unit motel at Birregurra say their decision was an appropriate compromise between allowing development and retaining character.

OBJECTION: Almost 100 people are opposed to a Birregurra motel plan.

Many people in Birregurra are for development in the town & are pleased this decision will bring people to our small community.. Good work Colac Otway Shire approving this development.. Unfortunately the neighbourhood character study is very restrictive which has caused people not to build in Birregurra, you can’t even build a front fence without a permit now.
