Minister refuses exclusion zone

COLAC DISTRICT wildlife carers have welcomed a government commitment to review culling permit procedures to ensure they are consulted before neighbours receive licences to kill native wildlife.

  1. It’s obvious that native animals are not welcome in Victoria, and that neigbhours’ interests can be at conflict in communities because of government support for farmers! If there is over-grazing in the neighbour’s property, it’s likely to be from feral animals, and over-stocking of animals. The grazing impact of kangaroos is very small, in comparison. Kangaroos are still “pests” in Victoria, even those carefully and lovingly raised by carers.
