COLAC Secondary College Year 11 student Hana Day has won the 2015 Colac Otway Shire Young Ambassador Award from a field of six nominees.

Hana won a trophy and $1000 to assist with further study or other areas of interest.

The award was part of the 2015 Youth Awards Ceremony on Friday night in Colac.

Colac’s FReeZa group Lac and Co Productions also presented its COOL Awards at the ceremony.

The awards recognise youth achievements in six different categories.

Year 12 Colac Secondary College student Nathan Bailey won the COOL Awards major honour, the Great Mate Award.

Other winners included Leah Cuthbertson, business, Saroj Timilsina, open, Rebecca Brown, performing arts, Cooper Stephens, sports, and Rachael Richardson, environment.

Hana Day won the 2015 Colac Otway Shire Young Ambassador Award on Friday night.

The ceremony also included guest speaker Cherise Garner, a former young ambassador winner, and live music from young Colac group Atlas.
