  1. Yeah, it closed up long before my birth in ’77… although that how old I feel atm. LoL NOT. ☹
That sounds like an idea Chris. Might have to look into that.

Great comments. A bit jelous, the last BeechyTrain ran on 30 June 1962 (before I was born) so I never saw or rode it through the Otways. I did however go on the 50th Anniversary of Beechy closure reinactment at Puffing Biilly (original Beechy G42 engine and carriages). Juggy you are always welcome to hitch a ride on the current G 43 Beechy Train (appreciate not quite the real deal) but as good as we can get.

I remember travelling to Beech Forest on the train when I was a kid. It would have in the late ’50’s or early 1960’s. it was a definite highlight of my life at that young age. I can’t help thinking of what a great tourist attraction it would be now if still running.

  4. My Dads cousin (Tom) was an Engineer on the Beechy train.
I hope to complete the trail one day, either once health improved or by means of transport.

Great news. I was taken by my parents to see the last train to run on the line. I would have been nearly four!

What a great afternoon. Be sure to see the photos and read all about it in Mondays Colac Herald. Fantastic privilege to be the Chairperson of such a great group of volunteers.
