Concerns at plan for new traffic lights

A COLAC OTWAY Shire councillor is urging people to contact councillors today if they oppose a VicRoads plan for traffic lights at a Princes Highway intersection.

  1. Thanks Colac Herald and Michael for highlighting this issue. This is a classic case of lack of vision and doing what is best for Colac. If there were no alternatives then lights would be better than what is there now, BUT there are some very good ideas raised by the community that could be much better. Problem is will council and Vicroads listen and consider. Sadly at Wednesday’s concil meeting council chose not too.

  2. In recent years, extra through traffic travelling down Murray st has made driving and parking in the Colac CBD quite difficult. It will only get worse as time goes on. We need a thought through traffic management plan involving a ring road, and we need it now!

  3. Yeah, how many will change their mind about the bypass now???
    Also, the lights are a better idea than the originally proposed roundabout. :-/
