Unfortunately this is a sign of the times. Mums and Dads unable to provide adequate clothing for their families during winter while we now have governments both State and Federal who don’t give a toss for people on struggle street. Both have drastically cut assistance for families who are battling to make ends meet.
Indeed the Abbott Government in particular has attempted to make a virtue out of suggesting families that need assistance are leaners not lifters.
The Abbott Government has overseen the destruction of the Australian car industry, the end of Alcoa at Geelong and a wide range of other manufacturing industries that are sacking employees. Their response, it is the unemployeds fault that they can’t find work!
Perhaps one of the best things that could happen for families who find themselves in desperate situations is to throw out the government both State and Federal.
