LORNE Football Club has earned a chance for its first grand final berth in five years after holding off Birregurra in a thrilling qualifying final.

The Dolphins will take on ladder-leader Forrest this weekend after defeating the reigning premiers Saints 7.10 (52) to 7.7 (49).

Birregurra coach Paul Lynch said his team would need to lift as it prepared for a first semi-final against South Colac on Sunday.

 

Bomber netballers still in the hunt

Irrewarrra Beeac defeated Western Eagles.

IRREWARRA-Beeac’s A Grade netball finals campaign is far from over after a convincing elimination final victory against Western Eagles.

The Bombers played a Sunday final for the first time since 1997 but shook off a determined Eagles outfit to win, 40-34, at Western Oval.

Simpson pays for slow start

South Colac was too strong for Simpson.

A SLOW start has cost Simpson A Grade netballers a second semi-final berth against Colac Imperials.

Simpson will take on Irewarra-Beeac this weekend after suffering an eight-goal loss to South Colac, 47-39, in the A Grade qualifying final.
