Farmer celebrates television debut

Beeac’s Tom Alston made his debut on television this week on the reality show The Farmer Wants A Wife.

FAMILY and friends of Beeac’s The Farmer Wants A Wife contestant Tom Alston celebrated well into the night after he made his television debut this week.

Mr Alston is one of six farmers vying for love on the reality TV show which screened on WIN Television Wednesday night and last night.

“There was quite a few friends and family that turned up to the Beeac pub to have a bit of a do,” he said.

“I was really happy with the way it came across, they’ve done a really good job.”

Mr Alston said he had received a positive reaction to the first show from his friends and family.

“Everyone was really happy and seemed to enjoy it, there were plenty of laughs,” he said.

Mr Alston’s mother Jan said she thought Tom “came across very well”.

“We all watched it with his friends and some of our friends, so it was good,” Mrs Alston said.

She said she would “try to” make sure Mr Alston kept his feet on the ground.

The show will be a fixture on the Alston family television set.

“I will sit down and watch it religiously every week even though I know what happens,” Mrs Alston said.

“I don’t know what they’ve chopped it up into, so I’m keen to see how it’s come across,” Mr Alston said.
