Appeal for information on baby’s death

HOMICIDE Squad detectives are appealing for an anonymous caller to contact them in relation to the death of a Colac baby boy.

A Victoria Police media spokeswoman said a woman called the Department of Human Services’ Geelong office on May 9, 2012, with information about the 14-week-old baby’s death.

The spokeswoman said police believed the information could help them with their investigation into the incident.

The child died in Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital on October 23, 2011, after he was taken to Colac Hospital on October 15.

Police have urged the woman to call Crime Stoppers or the Homicide Squad.
