GAVIN and Michelle Veale’s shed isn’t just for tools and cars.
The shed at their Elliminyt home is the place for music sessions, birthday parties, drum lessons and family celebrations.
Mr Veale said he decided to clean the shed up for a party.

Elliminyt’s Gavin and Michelle Veale use their shed for family parties and music jam sessions. Visiting grandchildren also entertain themselves with a pool table, television and musical instruments.
“I think it all started with a birthday party or a New Year’s Eve night,” Mr Veale said.
“The bar’s been in there for three or four years, we just decided we’d put one in there to get a bit of use out of the shed, instead of just putting cars in there,” he said.
The shed is now a permanent entertainment area with a pool table, hockey table, couch, bar, television and heater.
“We spend a lot of time out there instead of in the house,” Mr Veale said.
“It’s just a shed on its own, until people come around it turns into a pretty good night,” he said.
Mrs Veale said the shed was a useful extra room for visiting grandchildren.
“When they visit there’s five or eight of them, it’s a good place for them,” she said.
“It just gives them somewhere to go.
“It also keeps the house clean.”
Mrs Veale said the shed could be male-dominated at times.
“I probably spend more time trying to fix the garden up near it, so the girls have got a zone, so they don’t feel they are sitting in the shed the whole time,” she said.
The shed doubles as a practice room for the musical family.
“It’s been used for music, our daughter Madeline did drum lessons in there,” Mrs Veale said.
“They’ve all been out there and been having jams with Gav,” she said.
“We’re all pretty heavily involved in music, had a few family music nights,” Mr Veale said.
