Man hurt in Colac assault

POLICE are investigating an assault outside a Colac night spot.

Paramedics and police attended an altercation outside Colac’s StraightShooters which left a man bloodied and semi-conscious.

Witnesses reported the fight breaking out outside the Murray Street venue about 12.30am Saturday, leaving the injured man lying motionless on the footpath and in the hands of paramedics.

A witness also reported paramedics putting the injured man in a neck brace and removing him from the crowded scene on a stretcher.

Paramedics also attended to a man who tripped over while walking home and cut his head in Colac.

Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said paramedics picked up the man from Colac’s Wilson Street about 12.42am. Mr Mullen said the man had a cut head and paramedics took him to Colac Hospital.
