THE Princes Highway and Colac’s Murray Street will close on Sunday night as a convoy of trucks passes through the region.
VicRoads has announced the convoy will travel through south-west Victoria over three nights with machinery from the port at Geelong, starting Saturday night.
The Colac Herald believes the convoy will be carrying a 175-tonne piece of machinery for a wind farm power plant at Macarthur, near Warrnambool.
The convoy is the last of three convoys for the wind farm which have closed the road this year.
The convoy will travel between 10pm and 6am to minimise disruption to traffic.
It will travel from Geelong to Winchelsea on Saturday night and Sunday morning, to Camperdown the next night, and to Warrnambool the next night.
VicRoads said motorists might experience traffic delays and urged motorists to take care.
The authority wants onlookers to stay on the kerb-side and not enter the road for any reason until the convoy passed.
