Work supports people with disabilities

COLAC’S Tammy Goldspink is gaining skills and knowledge through a new work education program for people with disabilities.

St Laurence community access program manager Holly Kercheval said Ms Goldspink was completing a certificate one in work education at Kui Nursery in Colac.

“This course is designed to prepare people with disabilities to gain supported employment or undertake further vocational training,” Ms Kercheval said.

Tammy Goldspink is preparing for work at Kui Nursery with support from nursery co-ordinator Rao Kamineni and St Laurence program manager Holly Kercheval.

“The course will prepare clients to gain skills including workplace education, working in a team, personal management skills and communication skills,” she said.

“Certificate one in work education aims to provide participants with knowledge and skills which will enhance their continued education and employment prospects and to enable participants to gain a recognised credential.”
